BS6004 624-Y twin and Earth Cables refer to the flat cores with the earth with a voltage of

300/500v. They could be single-core +earth 6241Y, twin cores +earth 6242Y cable, three cores +earth 6243Y, normally used fixed installation and industrial lighting.

6242Y can be laid in conduit, cable trunking and cable ducting. Or where there is little risk of mechanical damage these cables can be fixed with clip directly or by cable tray or embedded or in free air. They are not allowed to be laid underground.
